The ideal EDC light with plenty of power. Simple mechanics, soft press for a little light, hard press for the full beam. Great SureFire at a fantastic price.

I loved the EB2-T to the point where I bought one for carry and one to train with and abuse – the EDCL2-T is, in my opinion, a very welcome evolutionary improvement.

The 25,000 cd/1200 lumens makes for a noticeable real-world difference over its forerunner’s 16,000/600 figures. No, it’s not mind-blowingly different (on high, more on this in a minute), but it’s definitely noticeable, with longer-throw/hotter-center as well as more workable spill (towards training, as an average-Joe citizen who takes some low-light classes every once in a while, I do not feel compelled to purchase a second EDCL2-T, as I think that the EB2-T is a sufficiently similar training counterpart).

One thing to note is that the low-mode figure of 5 lumens is inaccurate by my eyes. It seems that it’s considerably brighter than the low-mode on my EB2-Ts. To my eyes, it seems that the low on the EDCL2-T is more like 15 to 20 lumens. Still usable in an administrative manner, definitely, but as someone who really liked the low-mode output of the EB2-T, subjectively, I feel that the increased low end on the EDCL2-T is just a little much for some of my closer-in tasks, especially on more reflective surfaces.
