1 review for Agency Arms 417 Single Port COMPENSATOR

  1. Jonathan (verified owner)

The 417 Single Port compensator is a “compromise” compensator, but it compromises very well. This comp doesn’t compensate as well as larger comps (KKM, 417 2-port, etc.), but does benefit from a reduced OAL (just over G17 length with a G19), the ability to use weaker 115 gr practice ammo (I’ve used Magtech, S&B, and Fiocchi without issue), and give a little more margin for error that has allowed me to stick with the stock Gen 4 dual RSA in my Glock 19.

I’m fairly pleased with how it does tame muzzle rise, even if it’s not as dramatic a difference as with other compensators. Installation is also easier than expected; the “notch” in the front that grabs the protruding part of the RSA makes alignment fairly simple (the slide won’t go back if not aligned properly). A note for installation: Agency recommends using red Loctite instead of Rocksett even though older packages may ship with Rocksett. The loctite broke fairly easily with direct heat application from a small butane torch, but has held up well since reinstall. Overall, I’m very pleased – I’m getting enough muzzle rise reduction to notice a split time improvement, without the need for excessive spring and load tuning that I worried would come with a pistol comp.
